Purchasing Manager Apples Kiwi (W/M/D)
We are looking for a person responsible for the operational management of gala apple and kiwi procurement in key orchard regions in Italy, as well as coordination of logistics processes related to the storage and distribution of fruit, including kiwi. The role involves direct cooperation with growers, supervision of the purchasing process, and quality control across the entire supply chain – from the orchard producer to product dispatch.
Tasks:
- direct procurement of Gala apples and kiwi from producers and orchard growers
- developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers in key orchard regions
- negotiating terms of cooperation and purchase contracts
- cooperation with packhouses and cold storage facilities under a rented storage capacity model
- supervising fruit quality and compliance with customer requirements
- managing logistics operations, storage, and fruit shipments
- coordinating operational processes from procurement to distribution
Requirements:
- university degree in a relevant field (agriculture, agronomy, or related)
- experience in the fruit and vegetable industry, particularly in apples and kiwi
- practical knowledge of the orchard market in Italy
- experience in sourcing fruits directly from producers
- knowledge of fruit storage standards and cold chain principles
- strong negotiation and commercial skills
- good command of English
- category B driving license and willingness to work in field
