GL Team Leader with German (m/f)
For our client, an international organization developing its finance operations in Wrocław, we are looking for an experienced GL Team Leader who will be responsible for managing a General Ledger team supporting the German market.
This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong accounting knowledge with people management experience and enjoys working in an international, process-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a team of General Ledger accountants.
- Organizing the team’s daily workload and ensuring that accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Overseeing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitoring operational performance, service quality and agreed KPIs.
- Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures and control requirements.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and other GL-related activities.
- Supporting the team in resolving complex accounting and process-related issues.
- Cooperating with local finance teams, business stakeholders and other departments within the shared services organization.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, standardization and automation.
- Supporting transitions, knowledge transfers and implementation of new processes.
- Participating in audits and providing the required accounting documentation.
- Providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews and supporting employees’ professional development.
Candidate Profile:
- At least four years of professional experience in finance and accounting, preferably within an international SSC or BPO environment.
- Previous experience in managing or coordinating an accounting team.
- Strong practical knowledge of General Ledger and Record-to-Report processes.
- Experience with month-end closing, reconciliations, reporting and accounting controls.
- Very good command of English and German
- Experience working with SAP or another ERP system.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, organize the team’s workload and work effectively under deadlines.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Experience in process improvement, transition or transformation projects will be an advantage.
