Site Electrical Engineer (M/W/Other)
For our Client, Sany Group, we are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a utility-scale photovoltaic and energy storage project in Romania.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and grid connection activities while ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety requirements, project schedules, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all electrical installation and commissioning activities across photovoltaic, energy storage, transmission, and substation systems
- Coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of PV modules, inverters, transformers, monitoring systems, energy storage equipment, switchgear, protection systems, and communication networks
- Review electrical drawings, technical documentation, protection schemes, communication architectures, and automation systems to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Prepare and monitor installation and commissioning schedules, coordinating contractors, commissioning teams, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Supervise installation quality and ensure compliance with IEC standards, local regulations, and project quality requirements
- Participate in equipment inspections, factory acceptance activities, site acceptance procedures, and commissioning documentation management
- Support commissioning activities, including equipment energization, subsystem testing, integrated system commissioning, fault diagnostics, and performance verification
- Coordinate grid connection activities, including synchronization tests, protection coordination, dispatch communication interfaces, and utility compliance requirements
- Ensure safe execution of electrical works, including high-voltage testing, live work procedures, and other critical electrical operations
- Act as the key technical interface between EPC contractors, consultants, local utilities, and project management teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in on-site electrical supervision, construction, or commissioning within power generation, transmission, or renewable energy projects
- Experience in photovoltaic, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, or transmission line projects will be considered a strong advantage
- Practical knowledge of electrical installation standards, testing procedures, commissioning methodologies, and acceptance requirements
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, protection schemes, control systems, communication architectures, and electrical construction drawings
- Familiarity with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, cable installation, termination techniques, and transmission infrastructure
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and common electrical testing equipment
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in dynamic site environments
- Experience working on grid connection projects and coordinating with utility companies is highly desirable
- Previous experience working within international projects and multicultural teams will be considered an advantage
- Experience cooperating with Chinese organizations or project teams is a plus
- Willingness to be based on-site throughout the project execution phase
